Jeremy Blake Sampler

Published by celluloidnotes at 10:38 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I had recently promised some more Jeremy Blake, and have not yet delivered. Unfortunately, his work has not been properly anthologized yet (ahem - Criterion, Kino, Mystic Fire…anyone? Wholphin?). There are few videos of his work that are not bootlegs (aside from his music video for Beck or his interludes in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch Drunk Love). But I am going to attempt to put together a good pile of bootlegs, scraps of whatever can be scrounged from the internet (the post may be updated as I discover others). Most of these that are clearly bootlegs, taken on camera phones in galleries (or other low-fi devices), and are just excerpts, but it gives a good impression of what the pieces are actually like, and it’s the best you are going to be able to do online.

If this interests you I suggest finding galleries where his work is up (I’ll try and provide a comprehensive list here in an update as well) and see these where they were meant to be seen.
